This project was developed in one week with a working group of 5 members.
This project involves designing an app following the Double Diamond process model, which is one of the various ways to carry out Design Thinking.
It consists of four phases, divided into two 'diamonds.' The first symbolizes the creative process, where the phases of discovery and synthesis are developed, and the second, the prototyping process, consists of the phases of ideation and implementation or design.

The project grew out of a group work, where the challenge was to create an app based on habits.
We decided to focus on a specific user: the candidates for public examinations. They need rigorous management and organisation, in order to prepare for the different types of exams they will be taking.
In addition, preparation is more demanding when they have little time in their day-to-day lives. We realised that this time constraint represents a major challenge for candidates, as they need to maximise every available time to study and review the material. Therefore, our goal with Smart Owl is to provide tools and functionalities that simplify time management, helping candidates to optimise their study and increase their chances of success in their exams.
In an interview with Anna, a public employee, we explored her previous experience in public examinations and her study habits. Despite a busy schedule, she spent two hours a day and weekends preparing. She used methods such as highlighting and schematising, as well as considering items such as highlighters and a timer to be essential.
During the conversation, she emphasised the importance of keeping the exam date in mind and valued the support of an online community to share experiences and doubts. She revealed a preference for reading rather than listening while studying, although she considered the latter option as a valid alternative.
In terms of organisational tools, he mentioned the use of the Pomodoro technique and an application for listening to podcasts. Her opinion highlighted the usefulness of an application that offered a calendar, tracking of subjects studied and the possibility of taking practice tests and simulation exams, providing a complete overview of the needs of a candidate in his or her preparation.
Wanting a customised app for each type of exam involves a lot of development work.
Disinterest in implementation if targets are not achieved.
You can study with the app while you are anywhere, anytime.
Exam candidates create a community and word-of-mouth recommendations are very useful.
